The series "contextual pairs" deliberately plays with proportions, materiality, colour, blurriness, geometric structures and contextuality as a means of abstraction. The idea of the parlour game Memory®, in English "pairs", is taken up and reinterpreted: A new image emerges from two individual images - a "contextual pair" in which the individual image components are detached from their original context. The context created by the connection gives the viewer space to see each "contextual pair" anew and to decipher it for himself.
